Jasmine Ayo is a lifelong resident of Larose, and grew up here at the Larose Civic Center. Jasmine can remember roller skating in the gym as a girl, participating in pageants, and taking baton twirling classes here in the 1980’s. She is a 1991 graduate of South Lafourche High School, and attended Nicholls State University from 1991 - 1993. Whenever she isn’t at the Civic Center, she is spending time with her boys. Her husband John Ayo, whom she married in 2009, and her two boys Dante` Billiot,17 years old and Raleigh Billiot,15 years old. Both boys were also raised here at Civic Center, as they were two and one years old when Jasmine started working here. Her other pastimes include reading a good book, and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite Civic Center event is the Wild Game Supper. She loves tasting the exotic dishes, as well as seeing the beautiful mounts that are brought in for the event.
Her time here at the Civic Center has not been wasted. She served as Assistant Director of the Bayou Civic Club from 2001-2005. She has since served as the Executive Director of the Bayou Civic Club. Jasmine has received many awards and nominations during her time as Director, in 2006 she was a nominee for the Lafourche Chamber of Commerce and the Bayou Region Employee of the Year. She became the Lafourche Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year in 2009. In 2011, she was honored with the Presidential “Who’s Who” Among Business and Professional Achievers award. Jasmine sits on many of the Bayou Region’s boards and committee’s; Lafourche Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, a member of Kiwanis, and South Lafourche Relay for Life Event Leadership Committee, just to name a few.
Jasmine has a love for the Park and Civic Center, she is always looking for new ideas, and fundraisers to keep pushing the organization forward. She does an amazing job at promoting growth for the Center, nurturing the volunteers, and donor relations. Jasmine’s main goal is to keep the Park and Civic Center, and all we do here, growing and excelling for many years to come.
