Grand Marshal XXIX, Mr. Roland “Butch” Guidroz a fond
farewell for the great job he continues to do for the Larose Civic

Learn about the history of the Larose Civic Center, the French Food
Festival and more! Come on by & speak authentic Cajun French
with some of our best locals including Mr. Weldon Matherne &

Cajun Wood Crafts by Mr. Vinis Gisclair
When you sit on the swing on your front porch, do you wonder who
built it? Do you know what swamp the cypress wood came from? Talk
to one of the most interesting wood workers on Bayou Lafourche and
experience the beauty, history and art of local woodworking at its
best!

Book Readings by Local Cajun Authors
Stop by & hear excerpts read by the authors of some of our
favorite books written by talented people from Bayou Lafourche
& the surrounding areas, including children’s books!
Also present will be Woody Falgoux, who will read from his latest
book Rise of the Cajun Mariners, a written history of some of
the most powerful men in the local boat industry.

Basket Weaving & Beading on a Loom
Join Mrs. Charlene Soares & her daughters, Tasha, Angela &
Kayla, as they exhibit remarkable artisan skills of basket weaving
& beading on a loom, an art handed down from generation to generation
while hearing the history & uses of these beautiful items.

Chef Caine Thomassie - Cooking Demo
Join esteemed local Chef Caine Thomassie & watch as he prepares
one of the bayou’s favorite dishes while recounting historically
how we ended up great soups such as Sweet Potato Soup & all
of the delicious toppings to garnish with!

Old Fashioned Quilting with a New Spin
Join Mrs. Dodie Lorraine as she puts a new & modern spin on
the traditional art of quilting using a sewing machine. She, along
with other friends will demonstrate quilting from the beginning
of picking a pattern & gathering materials to putting the
final touches on these amazing works of art.

Fun with the Family – A Legacy of Cajun Music through the
Generations
Come and pass a good time with Roland “T-Cajun” Cheramie
& friends as they relive the colorful history & continuing
art of traditional Cajun music, featuring several generations

this hands on exhibit! Ever had a hankering to hold an accordion
or play a washboard?

LLC. & the new Crab Station in Larose, Louisiana as shown
by Mr. Dennis “Crab Man” Landry. Learn how the experts
boil all of our favorite shell fish caught right here off the
waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Whether you’re a local or
a tourist, this exhibit is sure to be a great one!

Most of us have grown up on it, but fewer & fewer know how
to make it. If you’ve ever wondered how your MaMa made that
bouille? Join Mrs. Sally Orgeron & Mrs. Rudy Bradford as they
premiere their favorite bouille recipe with wafer cookies, angel
food cake, fresh fruit and more. Come by after your favorite fair
lunch & get FREE samples!

A Century of Life with on Bayou Lafourche
Mrs. Viola Guidroz & Guests join “Taunte Vi” as
she recounts her unique experiences growing up on Bayou Lafourche
& her interpretation of how life has changed in the past 90+
years! She & other guests will be interviewed during this
special exhibit featured for the first time ever at the French
Food Festival.
