2007 Festival Dates
French Food Festival - October 26th, 27th, 28th
French Food Festival
The French Food Festival is hosted annually on the
last full weekend in October and features over 20 local specialty dishes.
Dancing and music, along with Folklife demonstrations on Saturday and
Sunday, offer everyone the chance to learn about Cajun life-ways -- boat
building, cooking, music and more. More than just a food festival, the
French Food Festival includes an old-fashioned carnival midway, complete
with games, rides, and cotton candy. 2007 dates are October 26th, 27th,
& 28th.
The Lafourcheaise, or people of Lafourche, possess more than 200 years
of a legacy rich with traditions, legends, and a distinctive way of life.
Experience the essence of life on Bayou Lafourche at the French Food Festival's
folklife demonstrations occurring on Saturday and Sunday. Folklife Demonstrations
are denoted by three asterisks (***) on the French Food Festival Schedule
of Events.
