The Bayou Civic Club, the non profit organization operating the Larose Regional Park and Civic Center is contstrucing a permanent pavilion at the park. The 116' X 211' pavilion is designed to protect large scale public events from the worse effects of the weather and will ensure the stability of the French Food Festival and the Family Fun Festival, the Bayou Civic Club's key annual fundraisers. Phase I of the permanent pavilion project officially broke ground last week and will provide the necessary solid foundation for Phase II's roof structure. Many local businesses and individuals generously donated to this project, including BP America, Bollinger Foundation, Capital One Bank, John Picciola, Cheveron USA, Edison Chouest Family, Entergy Louisiana, Franks' Supervalu, Galjour Oil Company, Kevin Gros Offshore, Shell Oil Company, Vision Communications and Workplace Staffing Solutions. Pictured are Henri Boulet, Bayou Civic Club Board President and Jasmine Ayo, Bayou Civic Club Executive Director shown with a group of donors, park supporters and volunteers.

The Bayou Civic Club serves the South Lafourche community. It also serves as a tourist center. Among the attractions for tourist are the camp grounds, the park, community attractions and of course, our famous festivals. The French Food Festival, Family Fun Festival, and the A Bayou Christmas are held on the Civic Center grounds each year. The park also facilitates the parking of campers and motor homes. Tourists are welcome any time of the year.
